Update on Merger Talks between PartyGaming and BWIN
Reports in the early part of this week have brought the possible merger talks between BWIN and Partygaming back in the news. There has not been clarification as to whether there has been any change in the status of talks between the two parties.
It was on Sunday only that Reuters reported that the probable talks between the two companies were not on the positive side. As per them, any further move between the two would be off the table. Even at the last stage, talks did not result in any outcome and that is why any further progress was pulled down.
Whatever talks there had been between the two, everything has resulted in a null value. This is the sole reason why any further discussion was called off. However, it was the following day only when Reuters released that BWIN’s spokesperson was misquoted. It was also added that there was no denial from BWIN on PartyGaming’s part. Again, the news also had that there has been no ups and downs in this connection.
Spokesperson for BWIN later clarified his statement by saying that though it was true on BWIN’s part that till this time no talks has resulted in any positive outcome, but at the same time but they are on the verge to get something positive from the forth coming talks. These talks are scheduled in the coming days.
In the best case scenario, analysts predict that if this merger goes through, then there would certainly be big ramifications not only for the entire gaming industry, but also for the affiliate marketing industry. Here, otherwise the individual constituents like BWIN and PartyGaming comprise of a huge share of this market. Though it may look positive, difficulties would always be there to cross the road.
