Bookies Suffer Biggest SuperBowl Loss
Everyone knows what happned last week when New york Giants beats the favoured New England Patriots in the World Champions Super bowl in America.
The Giants upset the Patriots 17 to 14 at Super Bowl XLII with a totall $92.1 Million wagered on the game. There were few hopes that this contest would draw and new record approaching $100 million and take over the currents record of $94.5 million which was set in 2006.
That number is really shocking to me, said one of the sportsbook director in the Las Vegas Hilton.
With all the hype, we thought we sould be ar least break past record and get $95 million to $97 million.
According to Nevada Gaming control board, the state’s 174 sportsbooks lost $2.6 million on the game after winning $12.9 million last year in Super bowl.
New york complete one of the biggest upsets in Super bowl history after the Patriots had taken a 14 to 10 lead with 2:42 left.
