Lake City Casino Provides Funding For Funtastic Festival
The 24th annual Funtastic Music Festival is less than 2 months away and already Lake City Casino is preparing everyone for the fun and has stepped up to be the title sponsor. They will be donating $7,500 to the June 27 – 29 Funtastic Sport Society event. The money given will be used to give back to the community.
“We basically take that money and reserve it right away and put it towards sports fields,” said the Funtastic executive director – Jason Gilbert. The fun and games that can be had at Funtastic are soccer, slo-pitch, lane bowling, and even a bit of entertainment on the stage that everyone can enjoy. Both Enderby and Armstrong are the host of the event and agree that the whole community profits from the recreational support that the event offers.
Funtastic uses funding like that from the Lake City Casino to improve upon and broaden the parks and the sports fields. For 23 years Funtastic has helped to build five playgrounds, 13 fields, and has given money to many sport charities.
“We are looking forward to staging another weekend of sporting fun and music which also provides significant economic benefits to our region,” Gilbert said.
Lake City Casino had no problem giving the event some money to help out with this. “Lake City Casinos has a long history of supporting community events, we are very pleased to work with Funtastic again this year,” said Lake City Casinos general manager – Bridget Armstrong. “The entertainment is always great and the community really enjoys the event.”
Apart of the festivities is the anticipated Lake City Casino Funtastic Music Festival. This part of the festival will entertain close to 10,000 people during the entire weekend. The main event of the show is Kim Mitchell the singer, songwriter, and guitarist who is known for songs like “Go for a Soda and Patio Lanterns”.
Tickets for the fun festival will be on sale starting June 1sst and will be available to those who play at the Lake City Casinos and also at the local Husky gas stations.
